Anna-Marie Buss

Inspired by art, literature, nature, fashion, and the vast spectrum of human emotion, my paintings emerge from evolving ideas and stories. Whether standalone pieces, part of a series, or created in different mediums, each work weaves a cohesive narrative, embodying the themes I seek to express. Since starting my professional practice in 2017 I have received many private commissions, sold internationally, shown in various local exhibitions and represented by the Beumée Gallery in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Comfortably unconventional, I follow my own ever-changing path. My work invites you into a world of colour, depth, and surprise - so come along for the journey.

My artistic influences stem from studying the Surrealist movement and the Pre-Raphaelites. I am deeply captivated by their dreamlike forms, rich archetypal themes, and the way they weave high realism with symbolism to veil deeper narratives. Colour plays a central role in my work, with oils being my preferred medium.

I recently collaborated with the Poet James Donaldson, providing the illustrations for his book “My Jackdaw Days and Corvid Ways” which is available from Amazon, some of which you can see below.
